100th birthday of Berry Lipman

On January 11, 2021, Berry Lipman would have turned 100. Born Friedel Berlipp, the German composer, arranger, musician and producer saw the light of day on January 11, 1921 in Burgdorf near Hanover.
Sadly, the "swinging sound master BL" passed away on August 21, 2016 at the age of 95.

For many years, he provided the German public with particularly exquisite party sound with a Latin touch and disco flair; in the process, he could look back on more than 5,000 music recordings, including countless - also international - hits such as "Keep on Smiling", "Die Girls von Paramaribo" or "Let's Dance Together". Among others, he produced Conny Froboess, Chris Howland, Lale Andersen, Charles Aznavour and Zarah Leander. With his "Berry Lipman Orchestra" he created hits and evergreens in a concise, unique sound that will live on forever.
