To mark the 100th birthday of one of the most influential composers in German television and film history, rbb dedicated a spectacular gala to him: Peter Thomas, the musical legend behind Raumpatrouille Orion, Edgar Wallace, Derrick, Der Kommissar, Jerry Cotton, Der Alte and many more.
His music has shaped generations of TV viewers since the 1960s – even international artists such as Pulp, Helge Schneider and Questlove have paid tribute to his work.
On December 1, 2025, Peter Thomas would have turned 100 years old. Reason enough to celebrate him in a manner befitting his legendary work: with a big show in the rbb's big broadcasting hall.
Highlights of the show: The Deutsche Oper big band gets Raumpatrouille off the ground again, hosted by Oliver Kalkofe, with guests such as Dr. Pop, Alexander Scheer, Tim Fischer, Malonda, Helmut Zerlett, Roswitha Völz and many more.
A great show with a fantastic atmosphere – available here: ARD Mediathek
