Mondo Morricone Revisited - even more thrilling cult movie themes by Ennio Morricone (3)

In the Nineties two very successful Ennio Morricone compilations had been produced by Cinesoundz, branded as “Mondo Morricone”. These were probably some of the best Morricone compilations ever, at least concerning the 60s/70s pop-arrangements of the film music Maestro.

Nobody knows why these two records have never been released on vinyl.

In time with the release of a third volume of this series (“Molto Mondo Morricone” on Royal Earforce) All Score Media now releases the highlights of the first two volumes as a special collector’s vinyl edition.

The music of movies like “Love Circle”, “Dirty Angels”, “Maddalena” or “Violent City” contains mostly Morricone’s typical spiraling melodies, waving through delicious chord changes and his stunning jazzy rhythms accompanied by the deep warmth of Edda Dell’Orso’s floating soprano. All these unique arrangements are played by such great musicians as Alessandro Alessandroni, Oscar Valdambrini or Arnaldo Graziosi. Volume 3, Molto Mondo Morricone, produced in 2003, completes this classic trilogy and is as well built out of nothing but "the good stuff".

The remastered tracks are pressed into 180 g vinyl. The linernotes on all three records are written by legendary soundtrack experts.

Welcome to the stylish world of “Mondo Morricone”.

PRESSE / PRESS

Paul Gaita, worldlyremains.com [11/04]: As with the two previous volumes, Molto Mondo Morricone compiles pop-oriented soundtrack cues from the prolific composer’s ‘60s and ‘70s output.  Morricone’s jazz background (he was a trumpeter and arranger) assures that the disc’s twenty tracks have a firm sense of melody and rhythm, which is augmented by all manner of eclectic (but never overwhelming) flourishes: blithe, sugary female choruses and venomous fuzz guitar.
