Original Music from East German Western Movies Part 2

Here we ride again! Allscore proudly presents volume 2 of the DEFA-Western soundtrack trilogy.
"Wigwam, Weste(r)n, Weisse Woelfe" brings you more music from the "Native American” movies of former GDR-owned monopoly film production company DEFA.

This sequel mainly presents composer Karl-Ernst Sasse whose opulent orchestral scores sometimes recall to Elmer Bernstein’s "The Magnificent Seven” or Martin Boettcher ("Winnetou”). Two scores of Wilhelm Neef and three German "saloon-songs” complete this delicious compilation.
Stampede! With the roaring sound of galloping horses this compilation leads you into the Wild West as seen by the socialist officials in the former "German Democratic Republic". "Wigwam, Weste(r)n, Weisse Woelfe" contains the greatest tracks of the scores to movies such as "Weisse Woelfe" (i.e. "White Wolves”), "Toedlicher Irrtum" (i.e. "Fatal Error”) , "Osceola", "Ulzana” and "Spur des Falken" ("Trail of the Falcon", US-title). These instrumental compositions are combined with three "Bad-Yankee” vocal tracks (sung by Bianca Cavallini and Monika Woytowicz) and Karl-Ernst Sasse’s theme from GDR-TV-production "Praeriejaeger in Mexico" (i.e. "Prairie Hunters in Mexico”)
Most of the scores have been written by Sasse whose epic "cinemascope"- compositions make the heart of each "Western fan” pound stronger. Wilhelm Neef, known from the first "Wigwam-CD", is the second composer featured with two scores on this CD.
In these "political-correct" movies, shot between 1968 and 1988, once again eastern-bloc hero Gojko Mitic represents the good amongst the "bad & ugly”. So of course he’s the one to ride on the CD’s cover.

This album is the result of intense research and remastering of the mono soundtracks from the original filmreels. All titles are previously unreleased!
